53rd Anniversary Celebration

53 Years of Generational Love & Legacy

Breakfast At Grandma’s House

Y’all been asking for years. Grandma finally said yes.

Patrons ask us for breakfast all the time. It has never been on the menu — so to celebrate 53 years, St. Rest #2 is serving BREAKFAST for this one day only. And baby… we didn’t come with JUST toast and eggs.

I will NOT miss this!

For ONE special anniversary Saturday, we’re setting the table early and serving the kind of breakfast that makes you loosen your belt before you leave.

Come hungry. Leave happy.

Just like Grandma’s house.

Years of asking. ONE anniversary breakfast. Don’t be the person watching everybody else post their plate.

I’ll be there!

How Check-In Works

First come, first served

Dine-in seating is based on availability and resources. Your sign-up is a guest list, not a held table.

Show up and get in line

Come to 727 E. 87th St. on October 3 and get in line to check in for dine-in.

We’ll call you

Once checked in, we call the phone number used at check-in to announce when it’s your turn to be seated.

Everybody must be present

All members of your party have to be present at the time of check-in.

15-minute rule

If your party is called and you’re not present within 15 minutes, the spot is forfeited and given to the next party in the queue.

90 minutes per table

Table time is limited to 90 minutes so everyone gets a turn at Grandma’s table.

Questions Grandma Gets Asked

Am I reserving a seat when I sign up?

No. Signing up simply lets Grandma know you’re planning to come. It is not a reservation and does not guarantee you a seat. Dine-in is first come, first served on the day of the anniversary, based on availability and resources.

When should I arrive?

Doors open at 8AM and we serve until 2PM. Early birds get seated first — the line forms before we open. Last check-in is at 1:30PM, based on availability.

How does check-in work?

Get in line at the restaurant, check in with your name and phone number, and stay close by. We call the number you used at check-in when your table is ready. Everyone in your party must be present when you check in, and you have 15 minutes from the announcement to be at the host stand or your spot goes to the next party in the queue.

Is there a time limit at the table?

Yes — 90 minutes per table, and we will be strict about it so every guest gets a chance to dine in.

Can I get a to-go plate?

Yes. To-go orders are limited to 2 per person and must be placed at the register. To-go orders will not be accepted at the table for dine-in patrons.

Can I bring my own drinks or alcohol?

No alcohol is served, and no alcohol is allowed on the premises. Coffee, juice, and Grandma’s hospitality are on the house rules instead.

Is this a regular thing?

No, baby. Breakfast is being served for the anniversary celebration ONLY — one Saturday, October 3, 2026.

What’s on the menu?

Catfish, ham off the bone, salmon croquettes, pork chops, eggs, grits, hashbrowns, sausage, pancakes, BLT, bacon, biscuits and more — all while supplies last.

Big parties and kids?

Families are welcome. Larger parties may wait longer since seating depends on what tables open up, and everyone in the party has to be present at check-in.

How do I best prepare?

Sign up, arrive early, dress for Chicago October weather since the line may be outside, keep your phone on and charged, bring your whole party with you, plan for street parking, and come hungry.

No alcohol served or allowed on premises.
